I am in North Georgia in the mountains, zone 7/8, and clay soil that I could sell for Play-Do. I treat the soil constantly with grass clippings, leaves, fruit/veg rinds shredded and torn, coffee grounds, and gifts from our dog. The soil is improving but I am not going to stop treating it. The Partridge Pea has been the most successful for this partial sun area! It seems to like this soil. The Joe Pye is in the area that receives the most sun possible.

Do you know what kind of butterfly the first one is? It’s gorgeous. 🙂
