My parents have had this tree since about 1997 I believe. It has seemed healthy every year, but the last few years it has had a branch or two that have been getting brown early in the year. This year is the worst it's ever been this time of the year. Any idea what to look for or where to begin? Think the tree is dying? I really don't know much about trees besides some Google searches, but can't get anything too definitive. It's just part of the front of the tree.

I just had an arborist looking at my property and she noted Silver Maples are notorious for being soft and randomly dropping limbs and coming down.

Can’t tell anything from these pictures too far away this is pretty small for a 30~ year old silver maple though so it may be getting stunted by something. It also might not actually be a silver maple the hazy pictures make it difficult to tell but this one doesn’t have the typical “Look” or bark.

Silver maples are fun trees just when they aren’t  planted in urban environments. Due to their fast growth and soft brittle wood mature silvers will start to drop limbs. Usually they only last about 80~ years in these environments red maples, when planted properly, are far better alternatives.
