a million ostracods

I think they're from the class, at least. I haven't put them under a microscope, but they look spherical enough 😀

Had this jar of java moss and cladophora for two years now! It's shared with some shrimp I'm reasonably certain are the third generation of a single pair I plopped in six months back, plus bladder snails. I give it very little maintenance and basically only top it up when the water is half-depleted, so seeing a huge mat of tiny crustaceans on the silt layer pleasantly surprised me!
