Badlands Pepper is a limited-time seed added in the Kitchen Storm Update that can be a little tricky to get. If you’re already familiar with how to cook meals from the Trading and Cooking Update, you’ll have an idea of how this works.
Instead of cooking meals for the pig chef, Chris P., you’ll need to create mutated meals for the Rat Connoisseur. They’re near the center of the island, to the left of the cooking pot. After giving them a mutated meal, they’ll give you three choices from their rewards to pick. You’ll need to get a Culinarian Chest, which has a 14.5% chance of giving you a Badlands Pepper seed.

The nice thing about this seed is that it’s a multi-harvest plant. Once you have it, you can keep it in your garden for as long as you like and continue to pick from it to sell. However, you won’t be able to get seeds from Lucky Harvests since this plant isn’t in the Seed Shop.
Since Badlands Pepper is an event seed, you can’t rely on pets with special abilities to get them for you. Such as the Red Fox, which can duplicate certain seeds from other players’ gardens. Similarly, Dogs who can dig up random seeds won’t dig up event seeds.
