A PENARTH home held their annual garden party and managed to raise £1700 in the process.
MHA Ty Gwyn made the most of the glorious weather and held their annual garden party in their front yard.
The garden party was really well attended with more than 50 visitors supporting the home.
There was plenty of live entertainment to keep everyone entertained starting with a bagpipe show, followed by a violinist and then some singing and dancing.
The home also ensured everyone was topped up with sugar and fluids, with various food and drink stalls.
The money raised will go towards the home’s amenities fund, and there are plans to renovate the garden.
MHA Ty Gwyn provides nursing care for 45 residents.
Mary-Anne Rawle, activities coordinator said: “The garden party has been the talk of the home and its all the residents, and their family members have been talking about.
“We had a good mix of visitors, young and old and it was nice to see so many families.
“There was plenty going on throughout the day and it was a real team from all of us.
“The weather was fantastic, which helped massively and everyone was in great spirits.
“Most importantly our residents had a great time and we received some very generous donations.
“To reach the amount we did is something we are very proud of, and I want to thank everyone who supported us.
“We are hoping to renovate the garden and the money we have received will help us immensely.”
