There are two forms of liriope—rhizomatous and clump forming. Our property is covered in the former, and while I understand why many people plant it (pretty flowers, evergreen, bounces back after a trim, spreads easily) it is backbreaking work to remove it. If it’s clump forming, much easier to control. The good news is that at least in DC, bumble bees do seem to get something from the flowers.
