i dont remember if it was walmart or lowes but got a grandi hybrid for $4.00 a week or two back. I didn't water it since I picked it up because i saw someone say graft stock are more successful when not watered for at least a week or two prior due to swelling. I have this mystery loph that keeps taking on the graph stock, growing significantly, and then has to be something I'm doing because it starts to rot at the union eventually. Keep in mind this is after I'd seen significant growth, and this repeated another time as well. I decided fuck it I will use the four dollar grandi hybrid as a graft stock because its less to lose and I'm hoping this one takes and if anyone has any insight maybe I can learn from my mistakes.
so the first picture is a lowes/walmart grandi hybrid with a mystery loph grafted
& the second is a t. bridgesii with a tbm type a (long form) grafted
i just got my first tbm a & b within these past few months and i've researched that tbms are different than most other trichocereus in a few ways. but what i find most interesting besides the segmenting is that theyre more likely to use non areoles as places to pup from as well, so the graft in the second picture is my very first attempt at grafting a tbm and i found it only fitting to graft it to a bridgesii instead of a PC pach 🙂
