Some of the stuff I got last year (Red columbine, for example) bloomed out of season last year. It bloomed on time this year. 🙂

First year plants can be a bit wonky. They just bloom when they get big enough.

6a – butterfly milkweed is just opening up! It’s cool though, mixes well with the established round-two blooms on the coreopsis and bergamot

One of my spring planted wild geranium plants is currently blooming. My older ones bloom in May so this was a surprise.

I’ve got 1st-year swamp milkweed getting ready for a late-season bloom.

  6. I winter sowed some ratibida and monarda last spring and planted what passed for plugs early in June. I got blossoms in October.

First year blossoms on coreopsis plugs. And blue-eyed grass, but not out of season.
