Get ready to tiptoe through the tulips as Nannup’s Flower and Garden Festival blooms for another weekend.

The annual festival celebrates not just the spectacular blooms that flower throughout the town, but Nannup’s green-thumbed community of gardeners – and the town’s unrelenting charm.

Now underway, the festival kicked off on August 8 – but will continue throughout this week and the weekend, wrapping up on August 17.

Nannup Flower and Garden Festival

The program features events across seven hubs around town, alongside market stalls and local businesses getting around the floral-packed action.

For the first time, the inaugural Golden Wattle Art Trail will encourage you to explore the workshops and galleries of local artists in Nannup and the surrounding countryside – while the inaugural Blue Wren Garden Trail will showcase some stunning local gardens, as well as Recycled Garden Projects curated by the children of the Nannup community.

A huge roster of workshops will teach you just about every tip and trick in the book to keep you and your garden thriving – whether you’re hearing the latest wicking bed know-how, learning how to create your own fairy gardens or how to get started growing your own medicinal herbs.

Everyday throughout the festival, the Nannup Town Hall is transformed into a botanical wonderland with RE-Imagine, an exhibition created through recycled materials by artists Nina Hoad-Pipkin, Catherine Meads and Leanne White.

And while flowers are the star of the show, there’s also a huge focus on edible gardens and how to make the most of your harvest – like Colin Barlow’s “Gardens of Plenty that Taste as Good as they Look” workshop, classes on how to can and preserve your harvest with Paul West, cooking demonstrations with acclaimed chef Guy Jeffreys, or learn how to make traditional za’atar manousheh with Lamia’s Lebanese.

Bringing the whole family? There’ll be face painting, kids crafts, plus visits from Rin the Garden Fairy and Bluey and friends!

Once the sun goes down, stay a while to have a boogie with the Mucky Duck Bush Band at the festival’s Bush Dance.
