You bought and you renovated. Was it your grandparents’ property in Canada? And you you Canada always loves Canada. Uh so do you get a chance to ever visit your property? I feel like you’re very busy. I’m dipping in and out of it. I was there to plant my garden this year, but I still haven’t done any harvesting. What do you Yeah, tell us everything vegetable garden. So everything everything. And uh we just harvested obviously the garlic and did the braiding and I don’t know. I just love it. I love it. Do we braid garlic? Is that what that means? Are we braiding garlic? Are we supposed to braid garlic? You’re supposed to braid your garlic. Have you braided the garlic? No. I’m allergic to garlic. That might kill me. No, don’t don’t do that then. And now your parents have a cabin there. I I moved my parents onto my property. It’s like a little compound, a couple different cabins. So they have their own cabin, their own space. They’re just far enough away, but I can still keep an eye on them. But it since I’ve moved there, I’ve been working so much that they become the, you know, they have their granddogs. Oh, yeah. Looking after the garden. But how many grand dogs have you given them? Well, three. That’s great. Three. And they’re big dogs. And so they all sleep in the cabin with them. It’s quite It’s quite funny. But it gives them, you know, something to do, someone something to love and care for. And you’re quite a cook, am I correct? Well, I love to cook. Yeah, I love to cook. What’s your favorite thing to cook? I’ve just I have everything. I mean, I love to cook, but I I’m vegan, so I make a lot of soups and I do a lot of actually I’m really excited to go home and make pickles. I like to can things. Let’s talk about pickles for a second. I’m I’m a pickler, Pamela. I’ve had a lot of people in my life, and Kelly, I’m sure you have as well, who have pressured me to pickle more things, and I’ve never pickled anything for the the the pickling version. Do you see how disappointed the judgment I felt that the smile went and it was cold. This man’s never pickled anything. For someone who’s never pickled, like what’s the best thing to start with with pickling? Well, anything you can do quick pickles and just keep them in the fridge or you can do the canning and and you can keep them in your pantry. But just, you know, there’s tons of recipes out there. I’m still fighting. I use rose petals in almost everything. So, I make rose jam. I make in my pickles. I use rose buds, too. Really? And yeah, you just eat the rose buds. Are we eating the roses now? Yes, you can eat roses, but not if they’re full of pesticides. I mean, you have to grow. I do harvest rose hips. I make, you know, face oils and body oils and and bath oils. And I’m I’m a little bit of a crafty craft. I don’t know. I like this kind of Did you learn this or did you take a class or you just like are you self-taught? I’m selftaught. I failed them many times. Yeah. What’s What’s the biggest fail, right? Oh my gosh. So many things. I know. I’ve made different things that didn’t quite turn out. You have to with cooking these. It’s all about trial and error. Are you like us? Are you YouTubing your way through some of these things as you learn it? Like, okay, I need to figure out how I don’t know what YouTube is. I mean, I’m not YouTube. I mean, I’ve seen it before, but I don’t know why. Yeah. I’m not really I’m not technology. I don’t have a lot of So, you just go out there, you get your hands dirty in the earth and figure. This is my probably sixth garden here and it’s just gotten bigger and bigger and I, you know, you rotate your crops, you try different things, and everything just grows. It’s wild. It’s so much fun. You Sometimes things overtake each other and so you do something different the following year. I mean, you have to love gardening. I’m probably boring. I have like a I have a a a potted shelf basil. Yeah, you had a basil on the counter and I felt so proud that I’ve been systematically killing for the entire summer. I cannot I truly am like you would be hardressed. I And I want to learn to garden. I would like to be able, my husband has a green thumb, so I’m very fortunate to be blessed with a person that understands what it is a plant needs. But I killed for my 50th birthday, the producers here got me a succulent and I killed I killed that little thing. You killed it. I killed I killed it. They’re indestructible. Indestructible. It cannot be killed. It is dead. It’s dead. Uh we we never Yeah, it’s the water that got in the
