Most probably they’ll grow together but perhaps a little bit of additional space was better…remove the dry branches regularly

What cultivar are these?
Softboilededd
If you trim the tops it will encourage bushier side growth
Ok_Procedure7928
Yep. In about 10 years.
eatonearth
They look like emerald greens to me but it’s hard to tell. They will likely grow together. I would not prune the tops. Every fall you will notice them shed some dead needles which I would recommend blowing out. This will keep them flushing well during the growing season and hopefully remove some potential for pest and disease problems which they are notorious for
snoughman
Give them a light trim all around and extra water this year.
suckages
It’s a bit counterintuitive and maybe some will correct me but don’t let them touch each other, prune a thin vertical line between the trees. This will allow them to grow denser until you finally allow them to merge.
Particular_Topic_652
yep, too close together

“Did you live under power lines as a kid or somethin’?”
maisiethehuman
Yep.
phil1forfun
It won’t take ten years! Give them 4-5 yrs, if watered and fertilized regularly. They will grow tall and begin to expand around the lower 1/2.
TiresareHeavy83
Do you have deer that come into your yard. If not they’ll grow together in like 3-4 years. But if you have deer it might start looking real ugly as it grows. The tops will be nice a d bushy and the bottoms will become bare. White tailed lil pricks.
Humble-Carpenter-189
Yes. Make sure to keep them well watered you can’t really overdo it the first year.
Wrong-Evidence-9761
Yes if you leave the dead ones to fill any space
NewEnglandGarden
Yes. They are planted TOO close together.
Special_Present69
Miracle grow bloom booster 15-30-15 will zoom these along
Nearby_Law1356
Probably would have doubled the spacing thinking long term health. Or you just thin out in five years.
Impressive_Ad_7722
you should have a solid hedge in 5-8 years. Like most people here already said, they’re planted too close if anything. Usually aim for 3-4’ apart
boredinthebathroom
We have about 40 of these surrounding my work parking lot, they eventually do fill up but they are slooooow.

I hope you talked to the paper company first. You probably have an easement on your property. I ha e power lines over mine and do. They just removed a shit ton of trees like this and others because they could grow to be too close to the lines.
Similar-Persimmon-78
If you keep the bigger ones from growing, yeah
TheCunningLinguist1
Yes.
Interesting_Bid4635
Power company might not like those planted under the wires.
Yes, they will grow wide and tall.
sunny-daz70
Should of watered the same amount of water and fertilised them every 6months
Steel_Reserver
I have these and they grow a foot every 2 years or so. They might grow faster if you fertilize and water them, which I do not do, but eventually, they will. Yes, they are called privacy hedges for a reason.
mtraven23
yes, if anything they are too close.
GoldyTheGopherr
Those will be ask to be removed in 5 years. Source, was an arborist contracting for a major power company doing tree maintenance on the lines. Or they’ll just chop ‘em in half.
Bentbad
Yes thay will
NoAdministration8340
They let you live under transmission lines? That’s wild to me.
t3khole
They’re gonna grow splendidly. Minus the one or two that will randomly die and ruin the entire aesthetic
Apollofoucard
Yes, they will grow together and grow very thick and very tall and very wide.
If you are lucky, you will no longer live there by the time they get so big you start hating them.
Because you will.
hahayes234
Are they planted in an easement under the power lines?
FiberopTYcs
What are they?

Water, water , water, water … Water water water
bibsybaron
I was planning to do this exact thing in my back yard for privacy reasons. If you dont mind giving me an estimated cost for those either individually or if you bought them all together or wholesale bulk and where? That would be very helpful.
