The bigger ones weigh roughly 50 pounds for reference. These limestone can obviously be used for walking paths and such. When I initially researched their value, I had arrived at $10 for the smaller ones (weighing around 20 pounds) and $20 for the bigger ones (weighing around 50). Then I was giving a group discount, where if someone bought 5 I'd make the 5th free. But someone is saying this is too much so I'm just clarifying now because I want to be fair.

If this is material you pulled out of your yard you can let people take it for FREE or pay a company to haul it away.

  2. No_Cut4338

Why did you remove it? The answer may inform you on it’s “value” to others.

I have this stuff as a path in the grass in my yard – it was there when bought the house and the only reason I haven’t yanked it is because I’m not sure if the Bagster folks would take it away.

Think you’re fair at pricing them where you’re at. I’ve personally accumulated a lot of flagstone for free but have also paid for it when I needed some.. it takes a lot of work to move and a replacement isn’t going to be free, so get some $$.. look up what box stores sell pallets at.. stuff isn’t cheap

  4. SnapCrackleMom

There’s also the value of you not having to pay someone to haul it away.

  5. Recent_Newspaper6262

Just give it away for free. Send it on to its next useful life. I don’t pay for rocks and old flagstone.

  6. dengibson

Everything has value, you just have to find someone who needs it. I have bought things like this in the past for various projects.

Its about 500 dollars a half ton retail. So to a stone supplier you might be able to sell it for 200 a half ton.

Folks can go to Lowes to get a few pieces. That is any shape and weight for $8. AND they will load it into their vehicle.

  9. You could pay the costs of storing it for long enough to find someone to buy it at the price you want, or you could simply give it away to get rid of it.

    Everything in-between is also valid.

Items don’t have “just one” price. They have many prices, and they tend to move depending on the price advertised.

$200 for the lot and they pick it up. $750 if you deliver it.

I will give you a grossly out-of-date point of reference. I built a wall using similar flagstone. I believe I paid like $350/ton, on a pallet and delivered. However, this was in 1987 or so.

I have been looking for similar stones in my area and seen the very similar prices to what you are asking from landscapers who deliver.   It’s way too much for me but if they can find a buyer that’s great for them.

They are worth whatever you can get someone in your area to pay for them and how fast you want it gone. Chances are if I’m buying anything used from a home owner i want a REALLY good deal. Otherwise i can put it on my credit card at the garden center.

Just pick a price and put it on fb marketplace

  14. Vivid_Witness8204

You just need to get rid of it. Take whatever anyone will offer. It’s a very limited market and you could wait a long time to find a buyer who will pay what you might think it’s worth,

  15. Aggressive-Emu5358

Might as well start selling water to fish

  16. rawbface

You post them for free, and let a stranger provide all the labor to haul it off your property. This is the way.

  17. pussmykissy

List it on fcbk. Don’t call it limestone, call it flagstone.

$50 for all?? Come down from there

  18. If it’s worth that much to you then you should probably just keep it.

List it for any price you’d like but don’t be surprised when you still have a large stack of stones in your yard 6 months from now.

  19. bang_ding_ow

People will definitely pay for flagstone but don’t expect much. I see people asking $200 for a handful of stones when you can get a pallet for like $300.

  20. Puzzleheaded_Cut4588

But guys OP pulled it up and sorted it by size he knows what he’s got.

Seriously OP trying to sell this at that price point is ludicrous and thats why you see ads all the time giving it away because no one wants to pay to dispose of it but hustlers gotta hustle right?

  21. bojacked

why not find a landscaper and see if they will take it all for 100$ ? it’s out of your yard and goes on to another happy life, you saved a Benjamin having it hauled off, and you did a local business owner a solid. That would prob be your best and highest on this IMO

  22. Thick_Piece

What ever it costs for someone to haul it away or free to someone.

  23. hoodlumonprowl

Where are you located? If its near me Ill come, load it in my truck and haul it all away for free!

  24. Blog_Pope

    You are not a stoneyard.

I can go to the stone yard and pay by the pound for their opened pallets of stone. I paid maybe $1,000 for 2,000lbs of stone to make walkways, so you are asking full retail price in a HCOL area (and a lot lower for contractors with accounts, or if I were buying by the pallet), which most people on whatever marketplace are not paying to pick them up from a backyard.

You need to decide if you want to be rid of them or you want maximum value. Your acquisition cost is $0. Your disposal costs is likely hundreds. Landscapers are not buying from you, so your market is tiny.

  25. jmjessemac

I’d give you like 20 bucks for all of them if I had to pick them up

  26. redditcreditcardz

Whatever someone who needs them is willing to pay. When I was looking for path stones I would have paid 20 for a stack or two.

  27. I had mine on Craigslist for weeks and weeks. I ended up giving it away. I had a lot more stones and bigger stones than this. Took the guy two trips to haul it away. I was happy to be rid of it.

  28. brucewayneaustin

Limestone flag is $260 a ton in my city. It’s on a pallet and ready to pickup. This may be a half ton? So, $130 and that’s a reference for retail cost. You may find someone to pay that… but it’s not likely and it could be a while.
