Oldhamstocks Flower Show will feature exhibitors showcasing a variety of items including fruit, vegetables, flowers, pot plants, floral art, baking and preserves.

There will also be handicraft, visual art and children’s classes available.

This year will see the return of the Oldhamstocks Hill Race, organised by Dunbar Athletics Club, which starts at noon.

The 6.5km course is multi-terrain and follows country roads and trails with one climb of about 200m.

Anyone 15 and over can enter for £6 online at entrycentral.com or on the day for £7, cash only, with competitors able to register from 11am in the village hall.

The event will round off with guests invited to join in an auction for flowers, vegetables and baking.

A spokesperson said: “There will be many activities to keep you entertained all afternoon, including children’s sports, a raffle, baking, tombola, book stalls and, of course, there’s the famous dog show.

“Be sure to bring your pooch along.

“You can enjoy delicious afternoon teas in the hall and ice creams will keep you cool, as well as plenty of other refreshments.

“Don’t forget to visit the sheep show, where local farmers will be showing off their best prime lambs.

“Have fun bidding for excellent produce.”
