Although I only got one this year it's the first melon I've ever grown. (Long Island NY)

    Was it ripe?!? I have 2 this size on my vine waiting for the tendrils to dry out. Patience is killing me lol

    Beautiful though hopefully mine will be ready sooner than later. I’m growing sugar babies and they say after the tendril drys out to wait 7-10 days then pick.

    How did you know when to pick?! I have one sugar baby bush that’s likely 1.5-2x the size in your photo.

    I read that the watermelons are ready to pick when the tendril on the fruit node dries up. It’s green right now.

    I grew sugar baby watermelon last year, got 3. One was awesome. One was okay, and the last late picked one was completely white inside. But I got two this year, and I’m checking em everyday. Enjoy. Hope they’re good.

    I grew sugar baby and mini-me. Mini-me was by far superior. Hope your sugar baby is better than mine.
