That is exactly how mint grows. Get a bigger pot and you will have enough mint to share with neighbors:)

Yours is a healthy mint plant !❤️

Mint is really really really good at escaping containers and finding ground (and it’ll be almost impossible to get rid of if it does) – I’d snip these pieces off to keep it contained

Mint is very invasive – If you were to plant it in the ground it would grow everywhere in a short space of time – keep it in the pot but get a larger pot

Unless you dream of a yard that smells like toothpaste, keep mint in a pot. They’re runners with commitment issues, and they WILL set roots, spread, and suddenly you’ve got a mint condition.

It has plans of world domination, that’s why it is growing that way. Good luck!

Looks like chocolate mint? That’s how it grows. It’s trying to spread.

Because mint is actually the fist envoy in an alien invasion

If you let it reach out and touch feral soil then it will spread so fast you’ll pray for kudzu

Because it wants to take over the world!!! It’ll find dirt and root anyway it can. Mine went through the crack in my deck.

It’s trying to take over the world!! mmuuaahahaha!

  10. It’s at its end of season. It will be fine next season

I had a mint that took over my whole flower bed, plus tons of bees were swarming the mint flowers

It’s a creeper. The stems fall on the ground and grow roots so it can spread

Runners. It’s looking for soil to expand.

People hate on mint. There’s a place for everything. Just don’t plant it in a garden bed next to other plants. It’s a good plant it just needs space to do its thing without freaking out all the squeamish gardeners

Because it’s mint. It craves dominion over all things.

  16. life_with_elocin

Because it’s trying to conquer the world, starting with your yard.

Mint could be the bad guy in a horror movie. Keep it potted.
Groom it. Don’t put cuttings in a mulch pile. There is a point of no return in a yard if it is left on its own

It’s mint. It goes underground and spreads everywhere. It’s looking for said ground.

  19. It yearns for the dirt. Do NOT give in to its demands.

I have never wondered! You opened my world with this post!

Hes trying to take over any amount of soil his gangly arms can reach. And he. Will. Never. Stop.
