My neighbor just gave me this SUPER AWESOME little guy and I’m SO EXCITED!!! It’s so cool and I LOVE the punk as hell spikes everywhere!
But I have a black thumb and have killed cactus’ before. I killed a supposedly unkillable resurrection plant. I cannot be trusted to keep this poor, unsuspecting plant alive 😢
Also, what is it?? In my excitement I forgot to ask my neighbor 🤦♀️

Euphorbia ferox. Give it tons of heat and sun and it will love you
Euphorbia enopla, not actually a cactus. Euphorbia are often mistaken for cactus due to their convergent evolution.

Like most succulents, they thrive on sunlight and neglect. If have bright light, but something starts to look off, stop watering. Pretty simple.
Lots of light, well draining soil, water once every week or two in the summer thoroughly then don’t water at all except for maybe once a month during the winter
I take mine out side in summer and just leave if it rains it rains if not oh well. Bring in before frost. I only have 2 they are 13 years old now.
Don’t over water feel the soil if it’s wet don’t water it needs to feel dry. A chunky soil mix will and a pot with a hole on the bottom will help to not over water.
A lot of people are hitting the care requirements but I’d like to add a warning, since it’s a member of the Euphorbia family it has toxic sap I don’t know what symptoms it causes but just make sure not to cut it and if you get it on your hands dish soap and water should work and if anything serious happens please seek medical attention
The real question is, how to stop it from murdering you?!
