UNION TWP., Pa. — An event in Union Township explored the world of gardening and medicinal herbs in the early 1800’s.
Visitors took a step back in time at Hopewell Furnace on Sunday.
Penn State Master Gardeners gave tours of the different gardens they maintain on the property.
The aim was to give visitors a taste of what life would have been like way back when.
The master gardeners also maintain a ‘Fiber and Dye Garden’ in the village.
Those plants were used to dye clothes and other linens.
