this has been on my Scotland must visit list ever since Chris Lawler featured it so did you know there’s a Japanese garden only 45 minutes from both Glasgow and Edinburgh the Japanese garden at Cowen is just past Sterling near a wi town called dollar it may well just be the most beautiful garden in Scotland definitely the most unique you may not have heard of it because it was only open to the public just a few years ago after a huge restoration project the garden is based around this pond with a unique Bridge Crossing there’s trunk bending trees Rock Gardens with Rak gravel there’s even a tunaki here often found in anim complete with a straw hat expect to find a lot of Japanese maple lotus flowers this is in Autumn so the acers are bright red so why is there a Japanese Garden in clack maner well about 100 years ago the landowner took inspiration from her trip to Japan upon return she appointed a Japanese lady to design the garden but it was later close to the public for over 50 years due to vandalism there’s a cafe and this cool Japanese gift shop there’s also Woodland walks and a kids play area you do need to pick a time slot to prevent overcrowding which makes it ideal for self affection and meditation
