A conversation exploring the radical, often overlooked craft of gardening – and those who shape our landscapes every day.

The act of gardening is a relationship with the land, unfolding across time and space. It requires patience, sensitivity, creativity and hard graft. In an industry shaped by dated hierarchies, are we able to renegotiate our ideas of what a garden is and reassess the contribution of those who tend them day-to-day?

Why is this highly skilled work so often undervalued and underpaid? As technology continues to shape the field, are notions of ‘craft’ still relevant? This conversation will seek to explore the transformative, radical potential of this deeply personal and embodied practice.

This event will be chaired by Sui Searle
