Extremely new to caring for plants and just got this 4 days ago, and it’s already starting to look a bit sad. I repotted it with potting soil, made sure the new soil was moist but not soaked, and have watered it twice since. No fertilizer yet.

I suspect that it’s either the soil is still too dry (it’s hot and dry this last week in my area, no rain), or the pot is too small.

Is my assumption correct or is it something else? Also any other tips for care would be appreciated! Thank you!

Looks dry. The potting mix can sometimes take a lot of water to really wet it down. Maybe give it water and put it in a bowl with some more water. That way it can “drink” from the bottom.
    It’s beautiful.

Needs more water, small pot for 3 plants will need daily watering. Trim any leaves touching the soil.

I would give it a good soak in the sink. It’s a beautiful plant.

My plants when they are like this are generally for three possible reasons: lack Of water, direct sunlight if it can’t tolarete it, or extreme cold. I hope you can save it, good luck.

Everyone’s spot on. It’s dry AF. Adding thar terracotta wicks moisture from the soil making it dry out a lot faster. Great for arid plants. Not so much for tropic/subtropic plants. You’ll need to water a lot, or consider another pot like plastic or glazed ceramic.
