My cherry tomatoes are fruiting really well in the heat, but I'm wondering if they will do even better with a shade cloth, anyone have any recommendations? Have never used shade cloth before
Mine are doing great right now with no shade. Every week or so i’ve gone through and done a massive pruning and that really invigorates new growth and bud production. One tip I learned from a guy on IG is to sacrifice some of the smaller tomatoes on the ends of the clusters – this prevents you getting a lot of small-to-mid size tomatoes from heat stress this time of year.
Another tip – keep picking at blush. It’s good for production and if a squirrel finds your bush once then he will keep coming back. With this heat you’ll also get a longer shelf life if you pick at blush and bring them indoors.
