“It was decided to take the very old, deceased roses out and redesign the two beds to incorporate the gifted plough.

“This work was all done by volunteers and workmen who gave up their time to help keep Peebles looking lovely.
“Hopefully this will enhance the entry into the beautiful town of Peebles.”
The plough was refurbished and repainted with new shafts made by Jim Sterricks.
Volunteers from the group placed a membrane on the site and spread six tons of gravel.

The plough was transported by Alan Mackenzie and then placed in the redesigned site.
Large stones were donated by Ewan Irvine and delivered to the new gardens, which were then placed and planted by volunteers.
A Bonnie Peebles coffee morning will be held on Saturday, September 6 in the Burgh Hall from 10am to 12pm.
