We are looking for help with managing this cactus.
Its sentimental to my wife.
She bought it for her Nan when she was 3. The cactus was a small little desktop size. Her Nan planted it, this is it now.
My wife is now 43.
Her NaN passed a while ago. We dug the cactus up and have moved it with us twice. The first place we had this nice big pot for it.
The second place, where we are now, it's been in this place and in this pot for about 7 years.
Its taken the blood from a few friends helping with the moves.
It seems to be thriving where it is.
Our question is, some one has asked to take a cutting l, one of the smaller "fronds". And we would like to plant it.
We have no idea how to treat this cactus with respect.
So, asking your community for help and guidance to keep this plant alive for another 40 years.

If you cut it Atleast get some gardeners sulphur for the wounds
Use a clean knife when cutting. I like to use a bread knife to saw through thick/tough older cactus. After cutting, keep the wound dry to make sure it gets a good callous on it.
That’s a beautiful stand. I’d leave it as is.
I wouldn’t cut it, she’s a beaut.
Dont cut it
Don’t!
