Put in this garden bed in the spring and planted a bunch of plugs/young shrubs. Seeing lots of growth! A few are struggling/keep getting chewed down but I am hopeful they will pop up next year.

False indigo (amorpha fruticosa) has really exploded and even getting a couple lupine blooms and a monarchs!

Great job! This looks awesome! It’s going to fill in really nicely next year.

Congrats on the monarch cat! I’m on year three and still hoping it’ll happen for me. What species is it on?

Your garden looks great! Mine is a bit more chaotic (but I love it).

Much nicer than the rest of the clear cut neighborhood

They will remember your oasis and be back and bri mg their friends!

  6. Looks great, may seem underwhelming now, but by this time next summer, you’ll be blown away. Keeping the border tightly edged with a shovel or string trimmer will help to keep the creeping lawn grasses out. I’ve had pretty good results from bagging my lawn grass and spreading it out along the borders as mulch, pulling weeds and dropping them in place, (except for Bermuda grass, or anything with lots of mature seeds) along with planting sedges, blue eyed grass, etc. along the edges.

  7. I love this layout! I have a similar backyard with nothing but grass and you’ve given me some great inspiration!
