Great Dixter, in the village of Northiam, near Rye, has been recognised as a must-visit garden spot in the UK.
It comes as publisher House and Garden has pulled together some of the most beautiful British gardens that every garden fan should visit at least once.
From Sissinghurst to Highgrove, there were 11 spots chosen, some of which you can consider visiting when next in the area.

But for now, here is why this local garden in East Sussex was recognised as being among the best in the country.

Why experts say Great Dixter in East Sussex is worth a visit
Great Dixter is a large, now Grade I listed house built in 1910.
The garden is also Grade I listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.
Its website describes Great Dixter today as a “vibrant, daring, and immersive garden with a 15th-century house”.

House and Garden says Great Dixter is “one of the great experimental and educational gardens of Britain”.
It adds: “Always pushing boundaries, [Christopher) Lloyd transformed the space with his sometimes controversial planting combinations, a spirit that has been continued by current guardian and Head Gardener Fergus Garrett.
“Whatever time of year you visit, there is always something different and interesting to see, and the level of horticultural expertise on show here is astonishing.”
Great Dixer is open from 11am to 5pm from Tuesday to Sunday until the end of October.
It is closed on Mondays, apart from bank holidays, with the plant nursery open all year round.
A description on Tripadvisor says Great Dixter is “exuberant yet rich in biodiversity”, with the location rated a 4.2/5 from more than 700 reviews.
One visitor in a review left on the site said: “Magnificent borders of flowers. Perfection. At times it was like walking through a jungle of tall flowering shrubs.”
