This tuber was supposed to be Parkland Rave, a pink cactus dahlia. I was so disappointed when it bloomed and was considering uprooting it.

Now I’ve decided it looks weird in a dahlia bed filled with bright colors, but fantastic in a vase.

I wish I knew its real name though. It is mostly white with a touch of lavender in the center of the unopened petals.

(For those curious. The first dahlia arrangement is paired with globe thistle and blooming apple mint)

There’s a few varieties that look like this. I know Eveline is one. Couldn’t tell you the other handful of varieties that have this same coloring unfortunately

It’s very elegant. It’s a refreshing change from the usual. ☀️

  4. me too. it is purely by accident. expected mostly pinks, but for some reason the majority were white — as a rule prefer darker dahlias. somehow, i am finding that i can appreciate the symmetry and shape a lot better with the whites.
