Possibly a victim of my own success. My mini clover got pretty high after a year, so I scythed it and took most of the material elsewhere as green manure. A few weeks later, I started to notice a lot of die back and mycelium spreading. The problem is, it continues to get worse. It does not seem like the areas recover.
I've seen some people online describe something called "snow mold", as something that just happens, into remove excess organic matter to help reduce it – but removing the dead material just seems to leave a bare spot that nothing grows back from. It also continues to spread to all surrounding areas.
I reeseded, but I am just stumped on what this is. I've seen powdery mildew on other species of clover, but this is just so strange to me.

Maybe aerate the soil a bit and see what volunteers there next spring.
You sure those aren’t root mealybugs?
Get a handlens and look up close.
