Hi! My bunny ear cactus (Opuntia microdasys) AKA Opie. 😆 I made the mistake of not putting him out gradually this spring, which has never been an issue an Minnesota. It has been insanely hot since May. He got a bit sunburnt and I moved back in and then gradually put him back out. Tons of new growth, but the sides seem weak and droopy. Almost like there is too much weight. I have had him for 9 years, and have only repotted him twice. Looking for advice because I am quite attached. Is the pot too small? Too much water? Do I need to propagate and give a good trim? Last pic is what ai propagated last fall. Thanks in advance for any advice. 💚

I’m shocked this looks so healthy in Minnesota! Well done! I’d repot or take cuttings

Look good. Better than might suffering at 118 here in Phoenix. What kind of soil mix is it in?

Most Opuntia appreciate water when actively growing

Holy cow that’s amazing! Personally I would let it ride for the rest of summer and then consider propagating the excessive growth.
