BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont Labor Department has confirmed that it was notified of about 60 layoffs at the Gardener’s Supply Company.
They were on site Wednesday, offering help to affected workers to find new jobs or training.
The employee-owned company filed for bankruptcy earlier this summer, citing financial issues because of retirement payouts to employees.
It was bought by the Indiana-based company Gardens Alive.
Gardener’s Supply has six retail locations in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, as well as a big shipping and online business.
