First time taking care of a Fox Tail. I bought it less than a week ago. I transplanted it the same day and rinsed it with water gently. I noticed the big roots so I have tried not to put too much water. It’s been taking sun all morning and until about 2pm when it gets under the shade. Any ideas on why it is drying up? Thanks in advance.

I’ve got one about the same size, and I just keep the soil lightly moist in a well‑draining pot. It’s been doing great like that. Usually water when the top soil dries out.
It could just be adjusting to the new environment, especially if it wasn’t getting any direct sunlight at the nursery
They like humidity. If I remember to soak them with a mist two days in a row they start to sprout new shoots. And pretty much anything in a pot with some direct sun in August will need water at least every other day. They do tolerate the sun well if they stay hydrated.
