We installed new septic which left us no choice but to seed and water during late June (In hindsight I should have got sod maybe). Unfortunately I had to leave the country for a month in July. By the time I left, some grass had started growing already. I came back to a lot of different kind of weeds and little grass in between
Should I wait for September to seed again? And I'm guessing I have to take all the weeds out first? Anything else I should do? What are my options?

Spray now for weeds. If you can get a hold of par three then do that now. Labour day weekend overseed and topsoil with a starter fertilizer and plenty of water.
Pick the weeds by hand if you’re ok with little work.?
You need someone with a farmers license to get you some. Or if you know anyone that can spare you a little. Wanna say one ounce shot goes with three gallons of water but you will have to look at the label.
Yes u wanna kill the weeds now. If u use a small amount like the label says then u should be ok. This way when labour day comes your all set and ready. Cooler temps at night is perfect to grow grass.
If you left in July that area probably didn’t get enough water.
Also, if you just planted it into the left over soil that the flattened out with machinery it might be too dense and lacking nutrients.
Did you plant the seeds at the proper depth or did you throw hand fulls on top?
