This year my containers are full of shades of Pinks, Magentas, Purples, and a bit of Silver. But one plant has taken over and is dominating the containers and that is Pink Verbena. It is loving all the rain. Check it out!

[Music] Hi everyone, Jacqueline here. So today I want to give you an update on how my containers are doing. Now, I started these containers pretty late here. But you can see just giving them this slow little release fertilizer and everything has worked wonders. Plus, they’re getting pretty much full sun here. But we can see the plants that are dominating and we’ve got some rain damage. But they have had a lot of moisture cuz we’ve had so much rain. And I contribute that to success of these plants. Even the colus here has perked right up. Uh the Selvia is starting to expand. We’re seeing more flowers on it. The dusty miller, the large leaf one, silver, is just beautiful. I really like the big dusty miller compared to the smaller leaf one, which is more delicate, I guess, is the word I’d like to use. But you can see here what’s going on. We also have delphinium sneaking through the railing here and joining the arrangement which is quite cute. And uh there’s a lot of color going on in here. I would definitely repeat this again because I really like it as well as with the wandering dude in this particular color I think is beautiful. And we can see here this one is looking really good. Some look like they’ve been damaged from the rain, but this one, I don’t know, with its location, seems to be doing much better. I’ll just zoom out so you can see the arrangement in full how it’s doing. There it is. And you can see all the colors. This is a great combo. Works well together. And the silver softens the arrangement. my other arrangements here. Like I use this container just for some spare patunias is starting to fill in. My geranium’s alive. I need to come in and probably feed it and do a few more things. This arrangement is just gorgeous. Definitely I would use this Lantana again. This beautiful verbina in lavender. And these are just, you know, plain verbinas. These aren’t superbas or anything. And you know, you get a six up pack for about four bucks, five bucks of these. They’re well worth it. Why spend an arm and leg when you get this kind of show and you can see the beautiful patunias that need to be pinched back. We have more verbinas here. And they’re looking really good in there. In fact, they’re stealing the show a bit, which is kind of nice. Fuchsia is holding its own with all this rain. I’m trying to protect it from so much rain, but um it’s doing well. And you see it’s going to drop a bunch of seeds. I should cut it back a bit more and loosen the load because it lifts it up like up there, which is what you kind of want. You don’t want it piled on top of each other, all the branches. You want to put some lightness in it because it will make a difference in how it does and you won’t get so much uh dead leaves or stems. Here is my white and green container. These queen tutts have just taken right off. Patunias are looking beautiful here. Loving the pistachio. And of course, the verbina once again is stealing the show. Looking gorgeous. And then the kolas, which is just a chartreuse green that I grew from seed, is doing its thing. And I should come in here and pinch it back. So, we’ll just take out that center. and that will help it compete with the queen tut. But you can see how this is doing. I don’t think my creeping jenny is doing that great. I’m seeing some discoloring here. Probably pinching it back would make a huge difference. But you can kind of see what’s happening there. Some more arrangements in the rail planters. Once again, bubblegum steals the show. But I think that these other just regular patunias really add that nice pop of color. We know what’s the star of the show in the driveway containers and it’s that verbina. It has just taken off and it is super dominant in these containers and I am loving it. Actually it by itself in a container would be beautiful. It doesn’t need any fillers with it. Same with this one. The patunia is struggling to keep up. And it’s a beautiful color of out patunia. I really like that. But it is struggling with the verbina to keep up. I might give it a haircut to spur it on to compete. But verbina is stealing the show. You would swear all that I put in this pot was verbina. But you can see there’s like some super bells down there and they just can’t keep up. There’s just no way. But what a glorious verbina. These are just plain jane ones. It’s just in a really striking pink. Patunias here are fighting to keep up. But once again, it is all about the verbina. They are looking gorgeous. So, if you’ve never grown verbena before, I highly recommend it. The pink and the lavenders are absolutely stunning. If you’re doing white arrangements, use the white. But these are exceptional bedding plants that definitely love full sun. They don’t seem to mind all the rain and are just kicking butt in my pots. So, I hope you enjoyed this video. I’ll see you in the next one. I just wanted to give you a quick update on how some of my containers are doing that are very prolific because we have more rain coming on the weekend. Bye, everybody.

All of the Verbena look like cotton candy. such sweet, vibrant displays
Gorgeous flowers😊 Love the lavender verbena so much! I only got some peachy keen this year but I’d love to add more verbena colours in the future.
Your pots are filling in beautifully. The Verbena is doing well…mine succumbed to the wind, rain and cold early on…but I love the lavender color as well.
We finally got a few days of warm weather and it got a geranium to open. It hasn’t been a good year here for them.
I bought those big white petunias from Walmart and they are doing awesome. I have tucked them into any dead spots
Happy gardening
