Only when the substrate is bone dry, especially if they were planted in an unsuitable very organic substrate, such as peat or compost.

Never water on a schedule. Give them sun. They will show when they need water.

Water less than you think you’ll need. Much less. I don’t mean quantity, I mean frequency. For most cacti dry soil is healthy soil, and issues start arising if it’s moist for an extended period of time. They’ll obviously need some but you definitely want dry soil between watering. Also, lots of light. Cactuses can get too much light, but they generally want a lot. If you notice your cactuses growing tall and thin, give it more light

Water generously, let the soil dry out and stay dry for a couple of weeks before you water again. Wait longer in the winter. The soil should dry in less than a week, they should spend more time in dry soil than wet soil

I we take them out and plant individually. They all grow at different rates.

Water like once a month with bottle water or rain water and only like a 3rd of a cup

It’s better to under water your cacti than over water. I leave mine go until they start to look a little shriveled and wrinkly. Then I just give them enough to moisten the substrate and let them go until next time. It’s usually 4-6 weeks between watering for most of my small ones and 6-8 for the “bigger” ones (all the species I have that are adult stay relatively small).
