Managed to snag this massive carboy on fb market place for £30. Probably went a bit big for my first terrarium. But I love how it's turned out. It is a little messy as I didn't realise how hard it would be to place everything in there with such a narrow opening. I've also added springtails and some dairy cow isopods. I cant wait to see how this grows.

Plants include: Begonia Maculata, Monstera Adansonii, Philodendron Micans, Asparagus Setaceus and various mosses.
Drainage layer of leca and the main substrate is grow tropical terrarium mix.
This sits just under a south facing window but I will have to see how it fairs there.
I’ve used distilled water for the first watering.
I’m not sure on how many many gallons it can hold but it’s 57cm height and the circumstances around the widest part is 145cm.

These are the roots of an asparagus fern. I don’t know who ever suggested this plant for terrariums as cute as they look on top this is what the bottom of your terrarium will look like in no time. Please remove it.
If you be bothered you can take a thin soft paintbrush, dip it in water and brush the debris away from the foliage for a cleaner aesthetic.
