Ever wonder why gardeners snip seeds or rub them with sandpaper? It’s a method called scarification, used to break down a seed’s tough outer coating. This helps the seed absorb water more easily and germinate much faster.

  1. I have never in my life, ever heard of anyone, anywhere cut or snip or sand a seed. Ever. Soaking in water is not a scarification. It's common sense, for some specific seeds. You can't soak all seeds if you want a good germination rate. All in all, I think this is dumb. Just use a good seeding mix or potting soil. Don't be lazy, be smarter.

  2. I never done this with pumpkin seeds…. Only time I do this if I want to plant a bonsai tree, some seeds are hard, then I use sandpaper 👍👍
