First time grower. I know there are loads of people asking when to harvest but as I am getting close I wanted to ask if there is weeks left before I flush or start to flush now and it will be ready to cut in 2 weeks.
All advice is appreciated thankyou đŸ™đŸ»

    80% is lost in drying. Be patient and keep it growing. Don’t listen to people. Listen to your plant she’s flowering allow her to ripen don’t follow some random people schedule

    Depends on what the trichomes look like, the strain & how you like the effects.

    Clear = more up effects
    Cloudy = mixed effects
    Amber = more couch lock effects

    You can start flushing a few days to a week before harvesting.

    Flushing is only necessary if growing with salts and there is a build up. Your plants show no signs of nutrient burn…let it ride.

    Assuming you are in coco

    Do not flush!

    there is no evidence that starving your plants of nutrients in the last couple weeks does anything but have detrimental effects.

    Plants that have been starved of nutrients will be far more susceptible to pathogens that cause botrytis and aspergillus.

    flushing is bro science and has no factual basis

    That looks weeks away from being done

    She’s isn’t close enough. Wait 2 more weeks then flush for a week

    Keep feeding all the way through, it’s a lie to taper back on nutrients.

    Give it another 2 weeks yet

    What do the most academic studies say?

    1. Lack of solid evidence
    There is no consistent evidence in scientific studies confirming that the “flush” (final washing with pure water before harvesting) improves:

    The potency (THC, CBD);

    The taste or aroma;

    Or the quality of the buds.

    2. Comparative studies (outside the PDF)
    One of the few comparative studies widely discussed in the community is that of RX Green Technologies (2019), which tested different flush times (0, 7, 10, 14 days) on commercial cultivars.
    The results showed:

    Minimal differences in cannabinoid levels;

    No improvement in flavor, according to sensory analysis with blind tasters;

    Plants without flush showed slightly better yields and did not leave toxic residues, as long as the fertilizers were of good quality and used correctly.

    3. Concerns about the final EC of the substrate
    Flush practice is often used to:

    Correct salt accumulation (high EC);

    Prevent bitter or metallic taste in poorly washed buds;

    Avoid toxicity from excessive fertilization.

    ➀ However, this makes more sense as a corrective action, rather than as a general rule before harvest.

    ✅ Technical conclusion:

    Flushing is not scientifically necessary in all crops, especially when:

    Nutritional management is well done;

    The substrate does not have a high EC;

    The fertilizer is organic or well-balanced.

    I tapered down to 400 ppm in my 3 gal coco grow using floraflex,rest the nutrients in last week or two will be pulled from the leaves in the ripening stage depending on genetics you will start seeing fall colors..by the way I grew cookies gelato autoflower from rqs,pulled 10 dry came out fire n still smoking

    DO NOT FLUSH!!! You still have a couple weeks left. Those buds needs to fill out and put on weight. The pistils will start to turn amber and shrivel up. Then you look at trichomes for ripening. Once trich’s are 10-20% amber, mostly cloudy, then you flush. And you only need to flush for like 2-3 days, just to get salts out of buds.

    Best advice I got as a new gardener. If you think it looks ready wait another week. To me this looks 3 weeks from chop at least. If you want to flush, wait at least 2-3 weeks and then give it some clean water for a few days before chop. A loop to check trichs is helpful but generally just watching your buds swell up and leaves start to fade away will give you as much an idea of maturity as you need.

    Growing from seed will never give the same results twice from a single seed lot. The range of flowering times can vary drastically so you can’t depend on what the breeder suggests flowering times will be, as will effects and other important characteristics. For this reason I like to take cuttings of things I really like since I know what I’m going to get and how it will grow everytime after that. There is magic in growing from seed though in that every single plant you grow is unique and nobody else in the world has what you have

    I would not she’s still shooting white pistols still getting fatter feed on till that days

    No flushing in organics. When you use chemicals a flush is needed if not the buds will be harsh.

  19. Honest_Concern_5477

    If i even flush i would only do it for a day or 2, makes microscopic difference to the flower anyway

  20. Basic-Durian8875

    You are rushing things. Those potentially could flower another 6 weeks. You do not go based on what genetics you have bc A LOT OF TIME YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT SEEDS/CULTURES/ROOTED CLONES you got. You are nowhere close to harvest. Flushing is debatable. Many say that for hydroponic/aquaponic/aeroponic flushing is for toilets. Im not saying I agree but some do not even flush. Id do one run trying each way and see what you prefer. Soil needs to be flushed. You got a ways to go

    If you want to flush do it when you think the plant is ready. The plant can usually do with an extra week or two after the average chops anyway so on average it will work out fine.
