hey budget gardeners vok here join me today as we go shopping at Ocean State Job Lot so let’s [Music] go I recently went shopping at a store near my house called Ocean State Job Lot and I realized the store is not everywhere it might not be in your location but I thought you might find this video inspiring and interesting the name of the game is always looking for good Bargains no matter what you’re doing even if it’s gardening related and I love sharing any good Bargains that I can find with you because you might be able to find similar Bargains in your area even if it’s at a different store even though I’m not sponsored by the store be sure to check out their website because often times you can order things that are not in the store and have them shipped for free to the store for you to pick up okay so let’s go shopping then here’s a list of where you can currently find Ocean State Job Lot within the United States to get the updated list of their locations you can always go on their website you can’t beat the fertilizer prices at Ocean State Job Lot for a 16 oz bottle of espoma organic grow it’s only $9.99 and here’s the price of what it costs to buy that same size bottle on Amazon in fact anytime I need fertilizer I first check out Ocean State Job Lot and I wanted to share the prices with you because if you compare these prices with local stores garden centers or even Amazon you’ll find that the prices just can’t be beat for example take the espoma organic soil acidifier for a six PB bag at Ocean State it cost $10.99 that same size bag on Amazon costs $14.98 since I have a lot of trees in my yard I love to put hanging baskets on them it adds a lot of nice vertical interest the hanging baskets that I have were originally bought years ago from Ocean State Job Lot they have some nice 12-in wire baskets that include the chain and cocoa liner for only $6 and often times you’ll find them in different colors as well as different designs now that I already have the baskets I can just replace the liner for a 12-in liner it costs $3 they also have some nice 14-in hanging baskets that include the liner for $7 and if you already have the 14-inch hanging baskets you can easily replace the liner for just $4 each the day that I visited I didn’t see any 16-in hanging baskets but if you just need a 16-in liner that’s $5 they had some very pretty 24in trough wire baskets that included the liner and they were only $10 each and if you already have a 24in trough and you just need to replace the cocoa liner it only cost $6 there were some very pretty 30-in trough wire baskets that included the coco liner and those were $12 each and if all you need to do is replace the 30in cocoa liner it’s $7 a piece I love the design of this hanging basket it’s a 12-in wire basket that includes the cocoa liner and it’s only $8 super pretty the day I visited there was only this one trellis but normally they have quite a bit of selection when it comes to different trellis designs as well as different height and this particular Trellis was only $9 a number of years ago I bought a greenhouse clo similar to this one for $39.99 you really can’t go wrong it’s so worth it if you need to protect tender plants or Tender seedlings they also had this very interesting raised bed greenhouse and it basically is a raised bed but then it also includes a clo or a greenhouse to protect your plants and for $59.99 I thought that was a very decent price and check out this eight shelf walk-in Greenhouse it’s always nice when you have shelves that are included with your greenhouse and that’s a pretty decent price at $75.99 there was this really nice raised garden planter for $34.99 and seeing that it’s made of powdercoated steel I think it should last quite a while and the dimensions of it seem like a pretty decent size I like to rejuvenate old potting mix that I have and I normally add a bunch of things to it including composted cow manure so for $4.50 for a 75 cubic foot bag I thought that this was a good price I’ll be testing it out and I’ll be sure to let you know what I think of it I hope you enjoyed this video I love going to that store there are a lot of other things that weren’t even in stock yet so I’ll be checking back and if I find any other great bargains I’ll be sure to pass them along and until the next video make it a great day with gardening

Good afternoon, sis out in my garden after making my supplier run to Starbucks for coffee grounds for my compost pile, cleaned off my asparagus beds of a heavy mulch, fertilized them taking five now before I maybe tell some more of the winery to get it mixed into the soil, a little bit better than the other beds watching your video

I love Ocean State (in Woodsville NH) I'll have to make another trip. I bought lots of seeds from them earlier this year when they were 40% off..Their prices are always soy good. It looks like most of your snow is melted. We still have about 8 inches and I can't wait until I can see bare earth again. I'm hoping that will be no later than next week. Thanks again for reminding me about Ocean State.
Hi Kavita, it's as if you read my mind. This morning I was searching online for the most cost effective source for Espoma Organic Grow because it will soon be time to begin fertilizing some of my seedlings. You have now pointed me in the right direction. I will also be comparing the price of Holly tone here with that in Costco.
Speaking of cheaper options, when I was looking for perlite and vermiculite to follow your recipes I found Perlite to be much cheaper at A M Leonard's than Amazon and they had free shipping.

Honestly just got home from OSJL in MA. Found terra cotta pot feet for $2/set of 3 and a really nice shepherds hook for $15. I’m holding off on the actual terra cotta pots until their usual 40% off sale.
I too am a huge fan of Ocean State’s garden department. My favorite product is their 50’ retractable Flexihose. This is not the hose in the store and must be ordered ship to store on-line. Besides being a better quality than the ones in the store, it comes with a Crazy Deal. For $54.99 you get the hose and a $54.99 store credit. Basically the hose is free! I bought my first one three years ago and it still works great with no leaks. I now own five of them. Light enough to pick up with one finger and easy to store since it’s retractable.

Hi Vita, I love shopping at Ocean State Job Lot. One of the best bargains I got was the Fiskars brand pop-up/collapsible garden bag with the hard shell bottom. They are available in the Fall. It was less than half price compared to the same ones sold elsewhere like Amazon. They also sell the Titan plant supports that look just like ones on the Garden Supply website, which I saw Laura from the Garden Answer YouTube channel using, at a much better price. They are probably made by the same manufacturer, they even say “Titan” on the box. Christine
