I found this plant growing along with a tomato plant. I am mostly intrigued by the pattern on the stem. It is from a unsupervised wild growing pot. I separate this specific plant and put it in a small pot. Also the pattern on stem is only on one side of the stem. What could it be. It's kind of hard to look at.

A picture of the whole plant might be very helpful. It’s hard to see how exactly the leaves attach to the rest of the plant, or the growth habit.
Agh. Best guess is some kind of young ash tree. What part of the world are you in? And do you know what plants are around the tomato?
