Hey everyone! I picked up this little pot of lithops recently at a Trader Joe’s and I’m wondering if they’re okay where they are or if they should be repotted.

The pot seems very snug. The lithops look packed in there and I’m worried it might be too tight for them. I haven’t tried to remove them yet because they seem stuck, and I’m nervous about damaging them. The pot doesn’t have drainage holes either.

Should I leave them be for now, or is it better to try repotting even if it risks a little stress? Any advice on the best way to do it without hurting them would be much appreciated! I have many house plants and patio plants, but am new to lithops.

If you search ” Trader Joe’s lithops” in this sub, there are tons of posts with Q&A and how to remove and care for them.

Apparently they are all good and are ready for transplantation if you want.

i just got some of these too! be sure to repot well before you plan on watering them

i just bought these at TJ’s too – the ceramic pot they’re glued into has no
drainage, and the potting mix is too organic/would stay wet too long.

you can pick the glued rocks off the top and pull the inner plastic pot out to repot. i was able to get the rocks with just my fingers and used a butter knife to get the pot out
