Jhansi: A grand kanwar yatra taken out here on Saturday, was welcomed by showering of flower petals from a helicopter. Thousands of people joined the massive kanwar yatra, which began from the temple town Orchha in neighbouring MP. It passed various landmarks before reaching Siddheshwar Temple on Gwalior Road in Jhansi. Women devotees participated in the yatra with equal enthusiasm. The yatra received a rousing welcome at several places, including at the Police Lines, with people standing on both sides of the road and showering flower petals. The main attraction was the aerial showering of flower petals from a helicopter, specially sent by the state govt under the instructions of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, coordinated by district magistrate Mridul Chaudhary and SSP BBGTS Murthy.”I would like to give my good wishes on this auspicious occasion. Flowers were showered over the thousands of devotees, including men and women, who participated in the yatra on the instructions of the chief minister, which was a moment of excitement for everyone,” SSP Murthy said. The yatra was also welcomed by former Union minister and BJP’s firebrand leader Uma Bharti, who expressed her gratitude towards CM Yogi Adityanath on behalf of the devotees for arranging the helicopter for showering flowers.Yatra organiser and senior BJP leader Sanjiv Singhrishi expressed his gratitude to CM Yogi Adityanath and the local administration for the arrangements. “The kanwar yatra is organised each year, and the number of devotees is increasing year after year. This year it became a milestone with the showering of flower petals from a helicopter sent by the state govt,” Sanjiv said.
