Trying to decide what kind of plant to put in this cool pot I recently got… It's about 5 gallons, and I plan on putting it on east facing porch where it gets about 4-5 hours direct morning sunlight and afternoon shade.

I'd like to get something fairly tall but not too bushy/wide, and low maintenance like maybe a big cactus. It'll sit next to a plumeria and some small succulents.

Hoping for something maybe lesser common, interesting ideas I might not think of. Or any suggestions really.

How about Soap Aloe (Aloe maculata) – low maintenance, can take the sun & sends up tall flowering spikes

Gregg’s Mistflower maybe? It’s native and the local butterflies adore it. I would also say cedar sage but that one doesn’t get as tall

Firebush would look great with those colors.

Lemongrass looks good in pots and gets pretty tall. Smells good and would work with that much sun. Congrats on the beautiful pot!
