This plant keeps coming back, grows super fast and is literally breaking up the paving (specifically the big cluster in the first photo, not the small one in gravel in 2nd). We have no idea what it is. This was cut down mid June and already back to this size (can’t pull it out from paving, and it’s got a THICK stem). In Southeast Ontario in Canada.

    Chinese elm, *Ulmus parvifolia*. Very beautiful as a tree, but not the best in that location.

    In Michigan we call it “Russian Elm” Don’t know why. They can get to 60 ft. Only way to kill it is to lop off all the branches and paint Round up on the fresh cuts. About 1/2 and half Concentrate and water. It might take 2 treatments. Hthelps

    Good old Elm trees. They dump so many seeds in the spring that they end up everywhere
