The cypress vine that grows by my mailbox every year had to contend with the horse thistle on its own this summer. I finally got to lend a hand earlier this week. It was determined to survive with or without my help, though.

    i just wish the blooms would last longer. i love them though. i take a palm full of seeds and bury it and by summer they trailing over the fence. hard to believe something so dainty can withstand my arid climate
