So there are hundreds of these floating around in my jar. They don't seem to stick to one area they just glide through the open water. I thought maybe baby detritus worms? It's hard to find any photos or videos that match these. They aren't thick like planaria worms either. Very short and very small.

    Do they compare to this?

If so, it’s a good sign that things have started working. There are 2 kinds of critters in our ecospheres. The ones that come in large numbers are typically the clean up crews that eat the decaying and dead stuff and its biofilm and bacteria and turn it into nutrients for plants.
The other kind are typically present in smaller numbers, i.e. planarians and leeches, and are predators to feed off the large numbered prey.

That’s how the balance works. It cycles around and around until the numbers are down to the needs of the jar.

These guys will pop up occasionally but you’ll never see this many again as u do in the beginning. As long as you have a suitable plant in there. Without it, a vital key element is missing.
