I can't tell if this is insect related, fungus, or rot. We're water about once a week. The first image is of a bulb plant and the other is more of a vine/hanging plant. They sit directly beside each other if that helps.

Only other thing I can think is there's an AC vent blowing above them (so should be circulating air fine), it's also sitting beside a window but it's basically always closed.

  1. Definitely mealies. Make sure to keep them far away from other plants, and sterilize those pots if you plan to reuse them.

You are getting mealybugs. If you get them early they’re actually pretty easy to deal with. Get yourself some 70% isopropyl alcohol a pack of q-tips and just wipe them off. You can make an insecticide soap by mixing isopropyl alcohol with dish soap or Castile soap and a little bit of water and throw that in a spray bottle. After you have wiped off the bugs and every bit of white that you see, give your plants a spritz down every couple days. A lot of people like to add peppermint oil to their spray as well. It is a deterrent for insects to return and make some less likely to breed on your plan. Repotting your plants afterwards with new soil and throwing up the old soil is a good idea too.

Mealy bugs – if you have access to them where you live and feel comfortable using them in your home (100% needs to be kept away from where children/pets could get to them), systemic granules will clear it right up
