It’s joever. I failed to persuade my friend to plant a native plant garden in his new backyard. He instead had this sod installed today 😔😔😔 I think my failure to convince them stemmed from my only having a baby yard of my own to show off. Baby plants and mulch isn’t exactly appealing to lawn lover normie eyes, I think. Lesson learned.

  1. It takes time to convince stubborn people like me. I’m proud of my level and green grass while my neighbors have bumpy brown grass.

You tried! That means something. He can enjoy his water bill and brown sod

Never fear! Plenty of people kill new sod. I’ve watched my neighbor kill her lawn at least 5 times, and no, it wasn’t on purpose. Now she has plastic grass and I get to watch the plants around it die. 😀

  4. Give it time. It’s all fun and games when it’s brand new sod. Let’s see how it looks without daily flooding and a ton of herbicide. You’ll have multiple bites at convincing your friend.

You did your best just have a better yard and make sure your friend knows it.

You’re up against a multi-billion dollar industry which spend hundreds of millions a year on advertising that your neighbours will hate you if you do anything else (and the neighbours who buy into it. I’ve faced repeated reports from one neighbour to the city about how it’s ruining their joy, and I just move on and watch the birds and bees.

Is it just me or does the grass look fake?
