Hi all, I had posted here before about buying a terrarium from marketplace and received a lot of good replies from yall. I didnt end up buying it and also havent started making one on my own as I have been a but busy lately with my work.

However, last week, I hosted a party for my friends after a long time and all of them know how I love plants and all I got from them were different plants. Lo and behold, I got this beauty as well. It is from a brand called proven winners and says the first year doesnt need any caring or watering.

I am here to seek help/advice from all of you as this is going to be my first terrarium. Thank you all in advance!

All the proven winners terrarium I’ve seen at the store were never looking very healthy. Personally, I’d crack it open and check the soil and everything to make sure it’s all healthy. Add a proper drainage layer, repot, and seal it back up.

BTW, it looks like you have a fittonia on the left, plumosa fern in the middle, and I’m not quite sure what the plant on the right is.

I think even when they say no caring or watering they still do. I would check to make sure that the soil isn’t too dry and if it is just a little water. Every now and then give the plants a mist and a general tidy up. If there is too much condensation on the glass take the lid off for about 30 minutes. I can see some dead leaves in there. Just take them out. Otherwise it’s very low maintenance and a great start to your collection. Also I find moss really helpful as that’s a great indicator for the right amount of moisture. You can buy it very cheap and don’t really need a lot. Apart from that this is a lovely terrarium 💚
