What the actual fart? How does one even remedy this? Are they healthy? They were purchased from trader joe's by my MIL

Trader Joe’s? I just bout some too, haven’t re potted yet. So sad to hear this, I guess I’ll use a hammer and gently break the pot.

I’ve bought these before. They were not glued to the lithops and came apart with minimal effort.

I was wondering that too. My answer was to break them out carefully with the tip of a small shovel. After the first one, I realized that the glue breaks up itself with water. You’re also going to have to break the glue between the plastic pot and the cover pot. Ceramic pot has no drainage.

  4. I wonder of they do that to keep top dressing intact during shipping? Any way bizarro

would the lithops just grow thru the glue?!

If they survive long enough, then let them grow a bit, as soon as they put out new leaves, those old ones glued or not will die off and a new plant starts growing from within ( 4 sure not glued no more)

For getting them out, id wait till they shrink a bit, just no more water till they split and shrink abit

At that point it’ll be very easy getting them out.

I just used a toothpick to start gently breaking up the rocks/glue. The glue doesn’t seem to be too strong.

They’re in a nursery pot inside so I figure I’ll pull the nursery pot out and drill a hole in the bottom of the outer pot when it comes time to water them. (Or repot into something deeper)
