I got these from a thrift shop about 6 months ago, never watered because there were extremely plump. Are they in trouble or do they need water? I’m not sure if they’re on the normal seasonal cycle or not. They finished splitting a couple months after I got them.
Perlite with maybe 20% (if that) succulent dirt mix
8 hours under a 100w grow light about 12” away
Sitting on a low light south facing window sill (U.S.)
If I do have to water, what’s the best way to do it? I’ve heard of bottom watering and does that literally just mean dunk the pot?

Olá…
Se elas já racharam e trocaram as folhas agora é hora de regar. O Substrato para Lithops precisam ser bem drenados e entre 10% ou no máximo 20% de matérias orgânicas. Faz uma rega de leve por cima mesmo até começar a sair água pelo furo de drenagem e espere para ver elas melhorarem.
Aparentemente elas precisam de mais luz já que está usando luzes artificiais mas faça isso aos poucos para não queimar.

uma coisa também.. essas pedras em cima se forem de enfeites, cuidado ela pode reter a unidade. eu não gostos dessas pedras em cima, particularmente eu uso misturado ao substrato, mas uso pedras pomes pequenas, que as raizes consigam se entrelaçares.
I’m not here to give specific advice on lithops because I am clueless how to actually care for these correctly BUT yes, bottom watering just means setting the pot in water so it can absorb it through the drain hole on the bottom of the pot. Good luck!
