Welcome back to woodacres. Today I’m going to be trying to make some progress on two different coupe projects. One for the ducks and one for the chickens. We have been getting rain today. We just had two storms roll through and they’re calling for another one to come through in about a half an hour. We have the two runner ducks down here at the pond and I think I heard them speak for the first time. Hey you ducks. You guys aren’t quacking, are you? I’m thinking we have two boys here. They definitely should be quacking by now. And the noises that they’re making are pretty quiet. You birds. We had a 50/50 chance. Boy or girl, we ended up two boys. And we are full up on boy ducks here on the homestead. I don’t need any more than two. Now, since the boy ducks don’t add too much protection like a rooster does, they’re actually just for breeding. And I already have two male ducks for breeding, so I don’t need another one chasing the girls around. I have over two dozen female ducks up there, and they barely get a break from the two male ducks. Now, I will try and find a good home for these ducks, but if I can’t in a reasonable amount of time, they will be going to freezer camp. Now, most of the birds that I have are dualpurpose breeds, so they not only lay eggs very well, but they also put on some meat. Although, runner ducks are not ideal for that. Oh, I hear the thunder, too, ducks. I think most of it’s past us. Might have more coming, though. And to keep the homestead sustainable, you need to have fresh life coming in each year. So, I want to have breeders in each of the flocks. And the new females laying more eggs will come in and replace some of the eggs that the older females aren’t laying anymore, but I don’t have to replace my male breeders as often. They can do their job a lot longer than the girls before they start tapering off. And my breeder for the ducks is Duke Silver. He’s a silver appleard, and he is a dualpurpose bird. That’s why he is pretty big. And these runner ducks are half silver apple, so they’re a little bit bigger than a normal runner duck. And I do like having the runner ducks around, but I don’t want them being my entire flock. So, we are going to have to find a new place for these two male ducks because now that we have ducklings hatching out in the barn, I do want to move one of the duck families down here to the bird box. Once they’re done hatching out eggs, I want to get them down here with the ducklings so they can run out and they can enjoy the koi pond while they’re growing up. Huh, ducks, you’re not ducklings anymore. And I did put in some of these water hyestence. I put them in the upper basin here and the middle basin there of the waterfalls so the ducks didn’t come in and destroy them. I did put one handful down in the pond as a test and it looks like they probably tore them up. There’s some pieces floating in the intake bay. Some of that is the salvia minima from the aquariums, but there are some pieces of the water hyasins. Anything you put in here green, the ducks are going to go after you birds. But I didn’t want all the hyestence getting destroyed. So, I saved some and I put them up here in the patio pond, which on my other channel, Whitacres Nature at Home, we are going to be upgrading this pond and putting in a new design, but I just wanted to put them in here for now so the ducks weren’t eating them. Oh, it’s getting dark. Oh, the geyser. Gorgeous. Huh? Pup. But the mailman just showed up with a big box. And inside is another chicken coop. And this is coming at a good time cuz Dizzy is ready to move out. Now, this one does look like it has a few more pieces in it than some of the other ones. But I think we can figure it out. Huh, pup. But I also would like to make some more progress on the corner lock coupe up there by the triangle house for the ducks. I’ll try and get out there, too, to make some progress if we don’t get too much rain. We already got it started last video, but I think I’m going to go ahead and let the birds out to the pond and then we’ll see what we can get done. Rain or shine pup, there’s a storm coming, mumbles, chickens, you’re not going to want to come outside. You’re going to want to go back in. You’re going to get wet out here. You’re not waterproof like the ducks. Mumbles, you want to get your ducks down to the pond before the rain starts? I’ll get your gate open. Come on over. Looks good with the grass cut, huh? Duke, you good looking bird. Come on, you throppple. Back it up, pup. Come on, ladies. Come on, pup. Hit it, mumbles. Head on down. Rain’s going to start soon. Take cover, chickens. Goats, what are you doing? Going to want to take shelter. Goats, what are you doing up on that bridge? Got dark skies behind you. Skies are getting dark back there. I guess we’re going to start on the patio on the new chicken coupe, huh? Pup. Hopefully all the gladiolas make it through in the vegetable garden. I think my pumpkin should be okay. With all this rain, I think my pumpkin’s getting close to 200 lb. If you’re not following along, check out my other channel, Whitacres Nature at Home for all the aquatics and gardening. Hunt ducks. Oh, probably didn’t see that, but there was lightning. What are you doing, pup? Might need to get a lightning rod so the lightning doesn’t strike my pond. I was always told growing up to get out of the pool when we had lightning. Mumbles. It’s coming in pup. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. All right. Well, they’re definitely right about the thunderstorms rolling in. It is blowing underneath the roof, pup. We got to take some coverage like the birds. [Music] They got the hill for coverage. That helps. Where’s the ducks? They might be under the pier. They go. Yep, they’re underneath the pier. [Music] It’s coming down heavy. Oh, we got lightning. We need to fix our gutters. [Music] Well, hello then. Oh, [Music] heat. Hang on, pumpkin. It’s blowing in here. Well, pump got to stop all this weather modification. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] Mhm. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Nice. She’s going up. She uses the top bunk now. Go on, little ones. All the way up. It’s dinner time. I’ll be right back. Spot. And tonight is scrambled eggs, sausage, sourdough, French toast, and shredded potatoes. Hump pup. We’ll be right back. Huh? Pup. It’s time to move muffins. Hey, girl. A, you’re so cute. Oh, don’t run off. Don’t run off. Okay, muffins. Oh, it’s okay. It’s okay. You can come too. You can come too. Yeah. Come on. Come on. Coming in. She be there you go, girl. I’ll get your other one. Hold on. Don’t bring your babies outside. Buddy, buddy. That one’s a fighter pup. Let Muffins call her over. Muffins, make this easy on me, girl. Echo, help. Come on, mama. Call them in. Call them over. Little ones. What are you doing? Go to your mom. At least do that. Come on, girl. Here you go. I’ll get the other one. Why is there always one? Go to your mama bird. Come on. Come on. What are you doing, silly bird? Go with your friends. This one has fluffy legs. Good job, muffins. All right, now go inside the building. What are you doing? What are you doing, Muffin? There’s no back door to this one, you bird. You’re getting a bigger house. Just relax. There you go. Relax, girl. You guys have windows on both sides here. Stay in there. That was harder than I thought. Coming in, ladies. Dizzy, it’s a moving day. I know, Dot. You want to move out. Oh, you got your baby up on perch. It’s getting bigger. Good job, girl. Hello little ones. You guys are doing good. Yeah, Dizzy, we’re moving you out. You have the worst setup right now. Oh my. You don’t even have water in there. Jeez, girl. What are you kicking everything around for? Louise, how are you doing with your two babies? I see that little fluff ball sticking out. Good. You’re doing all right up here. All right, we’re taking Dizzy. Dizzy, your ride is here, girl. You’re going to love the change. Pop, get the car ready. All right, girl. You got three of them in there. We’re going to take all three. Oh, they’re so little compared to the other ones. Hold on, girl. It’s okay, Dizzy. I know. You know I’m not going to hurt him, girl. Where’s the last one? Where’s the last one? There they are. Oh, that’s the biggest one. Hello. It’s okay, Dizzy. You’re next, girl. Oh, come on. There they are. You going to head on in? Oh, you want a break from them? H, it’s okay. Echo. Echo pup, give her space. Come on in, Dizzy. Oh, watch your head, girl. There you go. Tuck the tail feathers. It’s a short trip. You’re going to like the change. I know, pup. Birds in a box. What are you ladies doing? All right, come on, girl. Beep beep. Come through spot. All right, girl. We’re here. Back up, pup. Oh, girl, we’re going to put you upstairs. [Music] Come on out, girl. Going up. Oh, little one. Here’s mama. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is where you sleep. We’ll let you out in the morning. Okay, pup. We did it. All right, good. We got Dizzy outside in her own little box. She’s in the mini barn for now. And I do have the door shut. I want them to get used to being up top and then I’ll let them out in the morning. But the new coupe over here is a little bit bigger. So, I figured we’ll move muffins over here because she has bigger babies. This one has a nice run on the side of it with lots of headroom. And then it has a pretty good size coupe. Huh, pop, hold on, goats, I’m coming. Almost time for dinner. And it is getting dark. And it’s not just nighttime coming. There’s a storm with it. Huh, Pop. But I moved this one over here. And this one’s looking pretty good. It has windows on both sides of the coupe, so it has nice air flow going through the top. This one actually has nice access doors on top so I can get into the run part. And it actually came with some roosting bars on the inside of the coupe like they normally do, but it sent me a spare roosting bar. So, I went and screwed it right into the run here. So, they have an outdoor one. Humph. It did come with some feet and some metal feet you can prop this up on. But, that’s not going to work for me. I need this level on the ground so nothing can run into it and run out of it. That thunder’s coming. I don’t think we’re getting anything done with the corner lot duck pen. But we made some progress here with the mama chicken hens. Huh? Pop. Let’s check in on her real quick. This door actually came broken. I had to use the staple gun to fix it. But I was able to, so no big deal. Did you settle in, muffins? Oh, you got a baby on top of you. You’re using your roosting bar. That’s good. All right, you settle in there, girl. I’ll let you out in the morning, too. I have their run ramp closed off for now. Hopefully, they don’t get wet. This actually just overlaps a little bit. I do want to put some sealer in here. I just didn’t have the time tonight. It’s a rumbling over there. But Snowball over here in the mini coupoop mansion is actually going into the upper compartment now. Good girl. All right, everybody’s going up for the night. We did actually get this moved on to some fresh grass. I don’t have a handle on it yet, but I was still able to just slide it. And then Bonnie’s over here with her three babies. How you doing, girl? All right. She still has room to grow in there. All right, pup. I think that’s going to be good for night. That storm’s coming. Davles, you get all the ducks in from the pond. Come on in. Who’s out there? Get on in here, girl. Is that Glattus? Call them up. Dabbles. Mumbles. Get ready to go in. Are the ducklings safe? Beep beep. Coming in. Don’t worry about me. We have Zoe, Hermione, and Ron. Good. Ducklings are inside. Good. All right. Just checking. They got it handled. And I guess we’re going to wait till tomorrow to make some progress on this. I just need to make a door and a roof. And I think we’re pretty much set. All right, Ron. Bring it in. Ducks. Mambballs. Eat your cabbage. All right, guys. That’s going to be all for this one. We had to get these birds moved around as these chicken families keep getting bigger. And it does help that we had a really nice subscriber send in another mini coop. Now, I did get a message from the person who sent this in and they wish to remain private, but I do really appreciate it. If you want to keep following along with everything here at Whitacres, make sure to subscribe down below. Hit that like button before you leave and you can see me and Ekko on the next one. Thanks for watching. Good boy. [Music]

Geyser dont shut off in rain storm ?
The rain and music is soothing and feels good.
Great video Cody, there's a lot of love on your homestead. I enjoy your day to day activities very much. 😊
Aren't you afraid the lightning strikes the ducks in the water? They are not too small for it to happen ❤
Is that a tornado siren?I don't like thunder storms 😬Ducks love it 😊That little chicken house is really nice. 🤗It was nice of person who sent it 😊So many mommy's and baby's 🤗
Love to watch the videos of your beautiful land ,so beautiful so gorgeous!! Love the music you choose also ! God bless you and your family!!
I just love the way you talk to all the animals!
❤
Hey cody i would love to take the ducks
I love your videos. I love all the animals on the homestead. I like all the chicken coops. I definitely like the new one that was just sent to you.
I thought males have a curly tail feather ❤. I hope you find a good home. I like this chicken coop better the babies don’t have to climb. But it does take up more space
Am I hearing a tornado warning siren or a police car?
Dizzy is so chill. Nice new house that was sent in. They are getting bigger and better. Great job, Cody. Muffins and her babies will love it. Can't wait to see the finished duck build❤❤❤
Houstonian doesn’t understand. 8:21 what are the sirens for? Is that a storm siren?
10:20 what does weather modification mean? Are they really seeding the clouds?
How nice of the subscriber to send in the little barn coop, you certainly needed it so the Mama's can be outside. I do feel a bit bad for Dot, as it seems she's been in the nursery they longest with her big and lil' chicks while everyone else has been moved outside. I'm sure her turn will come, and looks like Louise was the last broody hen, so you should have all your chicks for the season from the ladies.
That’s a pretty strong storm.❤🎉😊😮😢
A suggestion all those new mini coops it may pay to attach some roofing iron on top. Those tar sandpaper type roofs do not like to much hot sun and rain.
The new Hen Hut was a challenge but woth it.❤😂🎉😊
Hope everything is okay there. Missing the daily shorts! ❤ 🪿 🦆 🐐 🐓 🐕 🐖
Oh my goodness!! Another house!? ❤ aww…how awesome!! 🤗 Thank you to whoever sent the house!!
Yes, I was always told to get out of water if there was a storm…👍 It seems you're getting a lot of rain. We are, too! I never have to water my little garden!! 😊
Wow!! That one is really nice!! You now have a beautiful collection of "boxes for birds"!! Amazing!!! 👏👏👏
That was too cute! Muffins & her kids!! 💖 Dizzy's going to be happier outside…but what she was in was a lifesaver!!
This was fun to watch!! Thanks for all the work you do. See ya soon, Cody & Echo! 💕
Runners aren't good meat for humans but Echo will eat anything raw so it's best to freezer them
Love the new mini barn! Lots of room. Thanks to the generous follower! ❤
I’m enjoying watching you grow your chicken village. Thank you subscribers for sending Cody the coops.
Love how excited you get every time you see the geyser….. every time 😊. Do you normally get this much rain in Summer?
What a wonderful storm!
Coty, I think maybe that extra roost bar might actually go at the bottom of the box on the outside to keep the chicks from going under and out. 😊
I will take one of those boys but I live in Florida if you can ship one or both
Aaawwwwww I’m so glad you received another chicken coop. 😊
I was wondering how many you need. I would of love to gifted you one 😊❤
I like the homemade but rainy weather is a big nopeee I like my summers full of sunshine ☀️ and 110-115 degree weather 🏊♀️ Texas🤠🤙🏻
❤❤❤
Cody, I really enjoy you.
From city slicker grandma in Southern CA.❤❤❤❤❤😊
I guess Cody will have places to put roosters that hatch out too when they get older too. With all the new coops lol
That one is cute. Love that it even has roof trusses. Adorable little village now!
Peaceful on the homestead
I love watching your channel, and the love and care you give to each member of your "family" even the ones that go to freezer camp get your attention and care that the others receive ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Now all you need are new signs that give these little buildings their special names likt the "Little Red Barn", " "Hoop Coop", " The Love Shack", the Chicken Mansion", " Chicken Deluxe", " Red Coop" , etc
Yiu really get your exercise with the 2 ducks, chasing chicks and mommas, and chasing the halflings to put up for the night ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another beautiful chicken coop, thanks it should give you ideas for building your large mushroom chicken coop.🍄🍄🍄🍄 I'm sure you drew some plans.I can't wait to see it, but well, first the shelter for the ducks, that must be one of priorities.🦆🦆🐥🐥
All this rain must have filled your tanks,⛈⛈ I hope this water doesn't damage the pumpkin, 🎃it would be a shame good continuation 🍀🍀👌👌
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a great coop. Good design ❤ the mommas and future flock will love all these. It's quite an abundant season ❤ thunderstorms feel so cleansing to me and definitely fill those waterbarrells up ❤
Sending thanks to the Community Members who sent the Coops, you rock!
Your going to get a storage shed for all those fluffy butt huts😂 I suppose just leave in field🤷. Thank you
What breed is Muffins i love the new chicken momma coop😊
Looks like dot's older baby is a little rooster bc it has a big comb!
Cody, your channels bring me lots of peace and I just love being a part of your little community. Thank you for sharing your time and abilities with all of us. It's great to see your channels grow in suscribers and members and to whomever sent the new minicoop a big thanks!
I do love a thunderstorm!😊
At this point you'll need to become a full time coop builder! Everyday there are more babies!
WOW that was one nasty storm! Hope chickens got inside in time! Poor ducks saying “ we like rain but this is ridiculous”! Hope the new coop didn’t get to wet, putting it together may be a problem with wood swelling!
can you sometime put greens in the big pond when the ducks are there?
